Let me introduce you to John Cage
I finished my first real zine! It's all about John Cage. I've given a few copies away already, and might give more away tonight as part of my halloween costume (I'm a punk). But if you want one, comment, I'll mail one to you. It's quarter-sized, 24 pages.
And another thing - I was visiting my grandparents last weekend, and they go on a lot of cruises. They were telling me there are people who live 365 days a year on cruise ships! One woman they talked to did this, had a little suite all to herself on the ship, said it cost her $40,000 a year, less than it would cost her to live in New York, where she was from.
Isn't that crazy? I think someone should write a piece for the New Yorker or something about this sub-culture of elderly cruise-hoppers.

more reasons to be happy
My three favourite performances that I saw this summer:
3) Final Fantasy, with Nico Muhly, Sam Amidon and Doveman at the Music Hall
2) Salut, Salaat, a performance art piece by Safiya Randera at the Gladstone
1) Matmos, with Leprechaun Catering at the Music Gallery
tomorrow night I'm singing at Squiggfest with my group Yellow Umbrella and then I'm going to New York for the weekend, and then auditions for school ensembles start.
There are a couple really, really cool houses I've passed recently on exploratory walks of the east end, I'll try to put pictures of them up soon because you should really see them.
